Ormiston Hospital was purpose built in 2008 and is anchored by Ormiston Surgical and Endoscopy Limited a business whose cornerstone shareholder is Southern Cross Hospitals Limited, New Zealand’s largest private hospital operator. Additional services on-site include imaging, medical consulting rooms, pharmacy and a cafe. The facility is split over two buildings across three levels and includes basement and on-grade car parking. There are currently over 70 leading medical specialists and surgeons utilizing the facility across a range of specialties. An expansion to double the size of the facility and adding additional beds and procedure rooms was completed in 2024.

Ormiston is the only private surgical hospital in the Counties Manukau District Health Board catchment.
